finely another computerday....its the weather that keeps me away from the computer...not much been happening,lost lots of time of visas,bud now everything is back in order and we can leave,i am now on the border of thailand and laos,wil go to laos tomorow,wil stay there for 1 week,wat means that i wil be in china by next week,i stil dont know wat i wil do in china,if it gets verry hot in mongolia then i wil take the train a litle,i was going first to pakistan bud this fuckers didnt want to give a visa,it was posible but to much bulshit,so i told them to go to hell.
thailand is stil one of my favoriet countrie in the world,peaple are nice,the food is excelent,the weather is perfect,the roads....
wel thats al folks dont know wat to write,last week was my birthday (i am 22 now)i have given myself a nice birthday present,two days in a good hotel....breakfast in bed....swimmingpool,water was to hot,cost me 10 euros for 1 night....almost killed me...take care,hugo,xuxa and garfield.

yes i am back in thailand,i call this my second home,if i want to rest this is the best place,wel i left mexico with a sad hart,i didnt want to leave,its a beatiful country,i dont know about the security..they have (the mexicans)a big problem with drugs,last year over 9000 peaple died,this year alone in januari over 1000 murders...
so wat is the differents between here and the americas,its a lot saver,i think,but you have all the tourist here,i would never travel by bus here,i have been traveling by bus for 2 weeks and i realy hate it,i broke my rim in mexico,have already a new wheel,now back to bangkok,geth my new pasport,visas and we are going to mongolia,i hope,the fucking rusians dont want to give me a visa,only in your home country they,if i dont like something than it is going to embassys,i hate peaple with a tie...

wel i have been robbed,it happend in guatamala,i just crossed the border of el salvador and guatamala,i was cycling, one person with a gun jumped in front of me,after 2 more guys jumped out of the trees,after a little fight i had to give part of my money,i just cant believe this,evrything was so great and now this,this guys were no poor and i even think that the police helped,you should have seen the cops,they were to lazy,after one hour they looked all over the hills,after one hour looking we went to the office,made a report,then we went to guatamala city,there the peaple of inguat,(toerist office of guatamala) were waiting for me they were helpfull they even gave me a free night in a hotel in the most dangerous part of the city,then the day after to american express....express,yes you have to answer 50 questions,then....wait,then maybe you geth your money back.
wel i didnt cycle in guatamala,i took the bus to mexico,if peaple want to come to guatamala...dont visit the capital,it dont feels save,i dont know about other citys,so that all,i dont feel to happy now i am full of hate,i am realy pissed of now take care love hugo.

wel first,a verry happy newyear to everybody,and all together now,1,2,3...happy birtday to you (10 times) hip hip olay (15 times),this is for my dad...forgetten his birthday...again,solong nobody forget mine...may 5.
annyway,were was i,i left turbo,yes by boat,after long thinking ,i said to myself,why noth,so from turbo i went to capurgana,a boattrip of two hours,stil in colombia,then from there to puerto obaldia,this is the first town in panama,yes i was in panama,and now waiting for the plane,4 flights a week...finely the day there was a plane but no luck...to small for my bike,they didnt want to take it...lots of place,only 4 passengers.
annyway,wat now,back to colombia or waiting for a boat...nobody knew whene there was a boat,tomorow ,today,next year....the answer was tomorow,there was my love boat,(chit boat)so i went strait to the capitain and yes no problem....tomorow at 07.00 we are leaving,i was on the boat at 06.00,we left at 16.30 hours,it would take only 2 days to carti,the first town with a road,wel it took 4 days,the first of januari we arrived in carti,wat means that i spent my newyear between gasbotles ,shit and piss,you see the sea was verry rough,everybody was sick the first day and we had 3 dogs on board and they were verry sick.
one good thing was that we didnt sail at night,we sailt from one island to another one,on this islands were the kuna indians living,the true panameniens,they were noth to friendly,annyway i was happy to be in carti,from carti another small boat to the mainland,finely road again under my tires,now i had to cycle 40 km before i had asphalt road,it took all day for this 40 km,the road was so steep,had to go true rivers,mud,etc.
annyway that day i slept with two nuns...two days,my bike needed a wash,me to,so after talking to god for two days i went to panama city,there i stayed in a love motel,stayed for two nights,had tv with two X rated channels....didnt sleep much,on my free day i went to the old town and to the panama canal.
then after litle sleep i kept folliwing that stuped panamerican hiway,there is no other road in panama,until david,that is were i am now,tomorow to costa rica,i wil fly true that country becouse i heard its expensive,so folks thats all please mail me back.... hugonietvelt@yahoo.com ,the photos are from turbo until david,take care hugo,xuxa and garfield.

wel the last time i sat behind the computer was in buenaventura,small port city on the pacific ocean,i was looking for a ship that went to panama but no luck..there were boats but i could noth go with them,so back on the bike and to buga,this is holly city,at least one part,the other part was for the hookers.
from buga i went to pereira,a big city of 450000 peaple,4300000 to manny,i hate to cycle true this big cities,no place for bikes,i almost flew to panama from pereira,lucky i didnt becouse the day after, the scenery was verry beatifull,lots of koffie,then came medelin,one of the biggest cities of colombia,i said to myself noth again,this time i went around medelin,great road al for myself...the road was fucked up ,thats why,annyway after 130 km i arrived in santa fe de antqua,great place,with south american flavor,after that i said finely no more mountains...i was wrong...more mountains...of the 130 km that day ,75 were climbing great becouse the views were great.
and now i am in turbo,port city on the caribean,here are ships to panama,problem is,they only take you the first house in panama ,from there...no ship,no road,only plane,problem...cheap...but the plane is verry small,shit...so take care,write me...i feel super good,xuxa the bike is so dirty,and garfield is black...hugo.

wel i left ecuador ,no problems on the border,however it took a long time to cross the border,was a bus in front of me with toerist...after two hours i was finely in colombia.
wel the road went true beautiful countryside,the andes mountains are beautiful ,hard to say ,but realy you should come down here and find out yourself,wel i have been cycling every day from the day i left quito,i needed warm weather,wel i had cold,warm ,cold every 80 km i had different weather,here in cali around 30 the grades.
from here i wil cycle to the coast,around 120km from here,there i hope to find a boat that wil take me to panama,i want to be in panama before christmas,i dont like this hollydays,prices go up ,hotels are full etc.

fucking computer...sorry,yes i am back in quito,whene i was in lago agrio,north east ecuador,the locals told me noth to cross the border to colombia there becouse there are to many guerrillas near the border,so i had to go back to quito,sad becouse it was realy beatiful there and...warm,so back i went,first i had to climb a mountain of 4060 meters,was a little scared ,but hey,before i knew i was on the top,but, cold fucking cold,i was so cold,dont have manny winter clothes with me,after the top back to the 2000 meters every 100 meters was getting warmer and warmer,after the 2000 meters back to the 2850 meters,quito.
i hope to leave quito tomorow,north to colombia,hope to be in colombia in 5 days,dont know how long i wil stay there,wil cycle to cali,from there to the coast to geth a cargoboat to panama,or maybe by plane to the amazones...
wei i had some sad news for me,my good friend heenam,the korean,has find himself a girl,they wil go back to korea and geth merried,i wish him al the best....so if somebody wants to cycle...let me know

wel hallo folks long time no see ,sorry about that,wel annyway i am back,and i am in ecuador,my website wil become more easier to use,just strol down and up....
annyway i left belgium 2 weeks ago,after working to hard for a long 3 months...yes okay it was fun,but cycling is more fun,so i flew to quito,capital of ecuador,there 2 days rest and on my bike,first day 104 km,to much for the first day,i was feeling it,didnt cycle to much for the last 3 months,but after a cople of days i was back normal...so i went south to banos,went almost to the 4000 meters ,then i went east to the rainforest of ecuador,realy beautiful down here and a lot hotter ,quito was 10 and here it is 30 the grades hot,eveything hase been great exept the other day whene i cycled into tere,i dont know if you understand wat i mean,that black stuf of the road,i was ful of that black stuf and the bike to,i had to wash myself with petrol for the next two days...
wel i dont know that i already told my world friends but i have brand new second hand nikon d50 camera,this is my new toy,now i can make beatiful pictures,so ,from here i wil cycle more north,if the border is safe then i wil cros the border there if noth then i have to cycle back to quito and cros the border into colombia north of quito,dont want to do this becouse then i have to cycle on the panamerican...to much trafic,so thats all ,take care,lots of love hugo,xuxa and garfield.

hallo folks....yes i know its been a long time,been busy wth fucking airline tickets,wel lets see were i was the last time,my god....rura,anyway i cycled north to the border of brazil and bolivia,great cycling bad road bud i had crocs on the side of the road wat made it realy great,i am in love with this guys,for the rest everything went fine exept the cha...how do you say this again in american ,it broke 3 times,on the border have i said farwell to heenam....man i do mis you,graet guy to cycle with ,however we wil cycle together again in the future,so i crossed the border to brazil,there i tried to buy a ticket to belgium (from venezuela)bud i had so many problems that i decided to fly back to asie,so i cycled to porto velho ,there the bus to cuiba then by plane to sao paolo...at the airport in cuiba i was arrested 3 times becouse i took my bike in the departure hall,lots and lots of cops....thene i had one more fight with the peaple from gol airlines (cheap airline of brazil)the reason for that fight was that we agreed on the price for the bike,the last minute they wanted more money....and i dont have that.
wel now i am back in bangkok,i wil fly back to belgium on july 29,in november i wil go to the cabo verde islands,from there to fortaleza,brazil....take care hugo.
safari....from 08/05/08 to 10/05/08
stil in rurrenabaque,wel last week it was my birthday,i goth 21 years old i finely can drink beer now and look to the....thanks for al the presents...the guys that didnt give annything,i wil never forget this...annyway ,we went on a 3 day safari,no cycling for 3 days,from here we went by jeep to santa rosa 100 km from here,4 hours drive,from there by boat to our lodging for the following 2 nights,on the way there we stopped at many places ,seeing manny annimalles,crocs (my faforiet)monkeys,snakes,birds and manny manny others,we went even on night safari, catching small crocs,it even pissed on me...
the second day we went swimming with the dolphins (ore was it with the crocs),in the afternoon...fishing...piranas,didnt eat anny of them,third day back to rurrenabaque ,from here i hope to cycle to brazil,north from here,all dirt road,i dont know if heeman comes with me,we both dont know were we are going next,i was going to pakistan in august,this is going to be for next year,so i dont know were i wil be in august,maybe to belgium for a copple of months,(working...??),take care(all) hugo ,xuxa and garfield...

hoi folks,today its 12/05/08,now in rurrenabaque,just come back from a 3 day safari,wel we have to go back to la paz, that is were i last updated ,i cycled(heeman with the taxi)25 km to la cumbre,4600 meters,from there 64 km downhill,dirtroad,sometimes verry dangers,last 2 months 12 cyclist died,you can rent bikes in la paz to cycle the death road,some of this toerist go to fast,we went with a speed of 12 to 25 km down,we had all are stuf with us,after going down 64 km back uphill for 7 km to coroico,verry bad roadthis last 7 km,we stayed for 3 days in coroico,had some bad weather...
from coroico we went down from 1600 meters to 2200 meters????that is wat the locals told us,always downhill,forget it up and up sometimes a little down...this went on to yucumo,small town in the midle of nowhere,then the last 105 km al flatt to rurrenabaque,where we are now,lots of green here,warm ,hated the cold,in la paz at night...minus 2...wel i hope this computer keeps up the good work...it seems that i finely find a computer that is working....hugo

hoi folks.....in bolivia...sorry about the delay of the storries,computers in bolivia....they dont want to work...and i hate this things more then anything els.
wel we have to go back to chile,san pedro,from there we went back to calama,i cycled back heenam took the bus,he dont like climbing mountains,back in calama,we went to our mall,great place to eat,then after a copple of days of rest we took of for bolivia,finely...we were getting sick of chile,the first cople of km were asphalt...after that the dirt road started ,this dirt road stayed until potosi around 1000 km away,it was 3 days cycling from calama to the border,we had to go over one mountain of higher than 4000 meter,no problem only sometimes with the dust....we camped two times on the side of the road,was great exept the cold,it was minus 10 at night.
after 3 days we arrived in olague ,small town on the border,cople of houses,station and a good restaurant,the day after to bolivia....yes...thanks god...we had to wait for one hour on the border of chile brcouse the guy from the immigration was stil a sleep...drunk to much the day before,on the other side in bolivia..no problems ,one more stamp and we were finely in bolivia,great country,friendly peaple,and...CHEAP,so from the border we cycled on one of the manny sand roads ,first day was easy,mostly flat,wel 3600 meters high,that day we went to san juan,small town in the middle of nowhere,the day after was going to be an easy day,55 km,should be easy,that wat the locals told us,no problem ,all flat,good road and if you take that road over that mountain it wil be more shorter...wel i can garantie you...that road was bad ,verry bad,lose sand,big rocks etc.
that day we cycled to a town that was closed to salar the uyuni,a verry big salt lake,biggist in the world,we were going to spend two days on that salt lake,great for cycling,noth so good for the bike,(salt) after two days of great fun we arrived in uyuni town,there a copple of days and of we were to potosi,our first big town in bolivia and the end of the dirt road,joepie,our dear beloving asphalt is back,i dont have problems with dirt road,just the dust...
after kissing the asphalt in potosi we went to oruro 4 days away from potosi,the first 20 km downhill,great,the next 80 km uphill....the last 2 days were flat ,wel 3600 meter high,so welcome to oruro,the town were i goth diarea,(the shits)after a copple of days a lost the...and of we were to la paz by....fucking bus,the reason we took the bus is becouse heenam had some problems with his visa,already fixed now,so now we are in la paz,tomorow we wil cycle down the deathroad,most dangerous road in the world...sorry about the mistakes,take care ,hugo,xuxa (the bike)and garfield(sleeping) my mail .... hugonietvelt@yahoo.com

THE TRAVEL STORIES
wel now we jump a little back in to time to today,i am now in san pedro the atacama,northern chile,from here i wil cycle back to calama and from there finely to bolivia....getting time to see another country,been here for over 2 months,the reason that i have been so long here is ,broke my rim...and to make this rim....had to come from santiago and it took longer than sending it from belgium and cheaper to...if you ever come to chile and have a bike problem...in santiago ,calle san diego,this is a street with 100 of bike stores....shit dont know wat to write,oh yes this wil be a jumping website,i mean i wil jump from one story to the other one...so in south america...i started in ushuaia,flew in fom bangkok (thailand)with emirates airlines,this fucking airline lost my bike(on the flight from bangkok to sao paolo)and aerolignas argentina lost my other bag from sao paolo to ushuaia....the reason that i write this is ,if a passenger do something wrong,then we have to pay...if the airline...they dont give a shit,fuck them...annyway back to ushuaia,i arrived there whene it was snowing...(in summer),i stayed there for 1 week (had to wait for my bike)then i went to terra del fuego national park..beatiful..cold and windy....there is so much of that stuf (wind)that i decided to take the bus a little (its much better to cycle from the north to the south,most cyclist do so)the first part of the bustrip was okay,the second...i was angry with my self,so finely i started to cycle,first day 105 km ,11 hours,flat road...just wind and more fucking wind...from argentina to chile...hey no wind ...i prey always the day before to father wind and it helps,chile (the south )was realy beatifull and verry popular wih cyclist,everyday i meet around 10 cyclist(told you more easy to cycle from north to south)they always asked me to stop to ask how the road in front was,wel if you meet so manny a day you dont want to stop....the road was always dirt,they say it wil be paved by the year 2012,dont believe this and i hope they wil noth do this,its more fun to ride on a dirt road...so long there are noth manny cars,so it was beautiful to puerto montt,first big city in southern chile,from there back to argentina...to busy there..shoolhollydays..back to chile and al the way to here,i am cyling now with a korean guy (heenam)we been cycling from la serena,3weeks now,we hope to leave here on saterday,i only stay here becouse of my website,if you want to see picture go to ,pictures -fotos of argentina,chile,so give me some more time ,i hope tommorow to put more picture,thanks hugo,garfield (my cat),and xuxa (the bike).
